Her successful ideas have included:
Barney's Big Brass Challenge:
Blue Peter presenter Barney had just 4 weeks to learn the trombone to play at a competition with a brass band. His success in this lead to another challenge: to perform with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at the Doctor Who Prom in the Royal Albert Hall. As well as generating the idea, Alex also taught Barney to play the trombone, ensuring his success in the
challenge. A year later and Alex moved to work for the Proms TV team, contributing to their coverage on BBC4.
The Quack Pack:
Alex sourced a brilliant young contributor to teach presenter Lindsey how to use a sheepdog to run Indian running geese around an obstacle course.
Rugby League World Cup:
Barney took part in the Opening Ceremony of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, and the trophy came into Blue Peter's studio for the show.
